David Rankine’s highly original Celtic inspired works can be found in collections across the globe and are showcased each year in his ongoing art shows entitled A Rustle of Wings.
The creator of numerous art manuals, books and CDs (with his band), David is also authoring an upcoming book re: creativity entitled Healing Space.
David lives and works in the village of Sharon, north of Toronto.

Dr. Patrick MacManaway, born and raised in rural Scotland, is a third generation practitioner of the healing arts and an international consultant and educator in geopathic stress and geomancy.His work includes clearing, balancing and re-harmonizing the subtle life energies of place for increased health at home, enhanced performance at work, and increased fertility and yield on farms.

 

Patrick holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh, and is Past President of the British Society of Dowsers and the author of Energy Dowsing for Health, Cultivating Your Light Body and Keys to Grace.

February 9: Celtic Storytellers and Friends is pre-empted by an event day – Geek Day 2012,  where Trent Radio’s programming is entirely taken over by all subjects Geeky, from Star Trek to rock tumblers to Experimental Sound Effect Music Mash-ups. Also that day is a a geeky board-game pub night that night at Sadleir House. 751 George Street North. This will be, as far as Awesome Programme Director James Kerr’s calculations are correct, the 10th annual Geek Day.

Blades of Glory ~ November 24, 2011

Blades of Glory creators Harry Heydon and Montse Alvarado incorporated their educational & entertainment company in 1994 and have since taught history to over 90,000 Ontario students from grades 3 through 7. Blades of Glory is an educational and interactive theme park (medieval and ancient civilizations) situated in Hastings, Ontario, where children actually touch ancient artifacts while learning about lost civilizations. They also offer curriculum based in-school presentations as well as entertainment shows for events like highland games. Fabulous!

History of Celtic Storytellers and Friends Radio Show ~ streamed onto the internet at www.trentu.ca/stream

Celtic Storytellers and Friends airs on Thursday evenings from 8 to 8:30 p.m. EST out of Peterborough, Ontario, at 92.7 FM, Trent Radio.First airing in the Fall of ’11 on 92.7 FM, Celtic Storytellers and Friends is also streamlined onto the internet at www.TrentRadio.ca.

Host Mary McGillis was inspired after years of research into her ancestors ~ her father from the Highlands of Scotland and her mother from the South East of Ireland ~ and Celtic traditions and culture, that she decided to start a show to share her passion with the world. Naturally, along the way, she met many awe-inspiring people and has helped, with Trent Radio, to share their messages.

In accordance with the aims of Trent Radio, Celtic Storytellers and Friends is a community-oriented, cultural and educational show encouraging a bridge of communication between university life, the Peterborough community and the world.

As host, Mary invites guests to share their story and messages. She also features musical and inspirational interludes each week.
